Kyrgyzstan's international reserves grow by $ 43.95 million for month

In January, Kyrgyzstan’s gross international reserves increased by $ 43.95 million. The National Bank of the country presented such data.

According to it, in January reserves amounted to $ 2,220.44 billion. This is the biggest indicator for the last three years. The volume of reserves was larger only in August 2014 — $ 2,222.68 billion. In 2017, Kyrgyzstan’s reserves grew by $ 237.37 million.

The National Bank uses international reserves to smooth the sharp fluctuations in the dollar exchange rate. In January, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic conducted two interventions. It has bought $ 15.50 million on the market and sold $ 5.4 million. Thus, the net sale of foreign currency was $ 9.65 million.
