Deputy Assistant Secretary of USA arrives in Kyrgyzstan

The Deputy Assistant Secretary for Afghanistan and Central Asia for the U.S. Department of State Henry S. Ensher is paying a visit to Kyrgyzstan.

According to the press service of the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, he will discuss a wide range of bilateral issues with the Kyrgyz leaders, members of Parliament and civil society leaders. Ambassador Ensher will also meet with participants in US government exchange programs.

Meetings with representatives of the opposition are not planned.

«The purpose of the visit is to learn more about the tasks facing the Kyrgyz government and discuss issues of common interest,» the report said.

The Diplomat, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State served as U.S. Ambassador to Algeria (2011-2014). He was also the head of the U.S. mission to international organizations in Vienna; senior civil representative at the military airfield Kandahar-Yug, Afghanistan; Director at the Bureau for Afghanistan of the U.S. Department of State and Director for Political Affairs of Iraq in the Middle East Bureau of the U.S. Department of State. Ensher joined the diplomatic service in 1983 and worked in such cities such as Hermosillo, Jiddah, Muscat, Damascus, Vienna, Algeria, Tel Aviv and Baghdad.
