In 2017, Kyrgyz citizens were issued a record number of passports, the State Registration Service reported.
According to its data, a total of 941,271 passports were issued, including 160,600 ID cards, 270,300 internal passports and 510,300 electronic ID cards.
For the same period of 2016, about 582,900 passports were issued.
Until December 31, 2017, Kyrgyzstanis had the opportunity to obtain a biometric passport for free.
