Return of budgetary loans in Kyrgyzstan grows almost 40 times for 20 years

From 1997 to 2017, the return of budgetary loans in Kyrgyzstan has increased 37.66 times. The Ministry of Finance provided such data with reference to the State Agency for Budgetary Loans Management.

Before creation of the agency in 1997, the return of borrowed funds was 96.2 million soms per year. In 2017, the figure exceeded 3,623.06 billion soms. At the same time, the largest return of loans was registered in 2016. Since then, the indicator has been falling steadily. It is expected that in 2018, 3,190.84 billion soms will be returned.

«To ensure timely return of state borrowed funds on budget loans, foreign loans and loans issued from other sources, the agency annually draws up a forecast plan of debt repayment,» the Finance Ministry told.
