60 tons of cabbage from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan banned from import in Russia

Inspectors of Rosselkhoznadzor Office for Novosibirsk Region stopped almost 61.43 tons of quarantineable products from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan at the phytosanitary control post Karasuk. The agency’s website reported.

According to it, 40 tons of white cabbage were transported for sale in Rostov region. The rest of the production was intended for sale in Novosibirsk. During the quarantine phytosanitary control, it was established that two batches of Kyrgyz cabbage weighing 40 tons were transported without marking containing information on the name of the product, its country of origin, exporter and / or re-exporter.

The batch of Kazakh grapes weighing 17.85 tons had an invalid marking. At least 3.58 tons of products from Kyrgyzstan were transported without documents confirming their phytosanitary safety: walnuts, dried cherries, apricot kernels, spices, dried mulberries, dried fruits and nuts mixes.

«In accordance with the requirements of quarantine legislation, the import of all products in Russia is prohibited. The cargo was returned to the senders in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan,» the report said.
