Central Asia considered as territory of expansion of terrorism influence

The Central Asian region is considered as a territory for expanding the sphere of influence of international terrorist and extremist organizations. The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov said in an interview with Izvestia.

Terrorism and religious extremism can be confronted only by joint efforts of our partner countries. We cooperate fruitfully with other states and international organizations.

According to him, the state of Kyrgyzstan’s security is determined by its position in the geopolitical space, the influence of regional factors, as well as the dynamics of the country’s development in modern conditions.

«The emerging situation requires the state and society to take adequate measures to counter terrorism and extremism. We adopted the state program for 2017-2022, which is aimed at protecting the interests of the individual, society and the state and takes into account the obligations of Kyrgyzstan in the framework of decisions and conventions of the UN, CIS, CSTO, SCO and other international organizations, UN Security Council resolutions, bilateral agreements and international treaties , as well as the Joint Action Plan for the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in Central Asia,» the head of the Kyrgyz Republic explained.
