Antimonopoly agency insists on reducing price of biometric passports

The State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation of Kyrgyzstan insists on reducing the price of biometric passports, the deputy head of the department Keneshbai Taylakov reported to 24.kg news agency.

According to him, the State Registration Service recently submitted the cost of biometric passports for consideration. According to the law, the antimonopoly authority must consider the project within 20 days. «Until January 1, we will approve tariffs. At present, we analyze the report and insist on lowering the price,» Keneshbai Taylakov explained.

Earlier the State Registration Service told that from January 1 the cost of the biometric ID card would be 320 soms. 24.kg news agency asked for a calculation, but the department couldn’t submit it, noting that the calculation is approximate and may change.
