The Parliamentary Committee on Economic and Fiscal Policy approved the candidacy of Tolkunbek Abdygulov for the post of head of the National Bank. The decision was made today at its meeting.
The candidacy of Tolkunbek Abdygulov was introduced to the Parliament by the President of the country, Sooronbai Jeenbekov. Deputies asked why he returned to the National Bank only four months after his appointment to the government.
«We are civil servants. At that moment I was offered, I considered it important to come to the government. Now the president proposed to head the National Bank again, and I also thought it important to accept it,» Tolkunbek Abdygulov said.
The previous head of the National Bank was Kubanychbek Kulmatov. The post was vacant after the latter was appointed Chairman of the State Customs Service.
The deputies supported the candidacy of the head of the National Bank unanimously. Tolkunbek Abdygulov thanked the deputies for their support. The answer from the deputy Dastan Bekeshev was immediately followed: «The main thing for you is to work now, don’t leave anymore».
