One more extremist detained in Kyrgyzstan

One of the leaders of the religious extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, born in 1982, native of Osh region, temporarily residing in Belovodskoye village of Chui region, was detained and placed in Bishkek detention facility 1. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to it, on December 14, the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the State Committee for National Security, within the criminal case initiated under Article 299-2 (acquisition, production, storage, distribution, transportation and transfer of extremist materials, as well as deliberate use of symbols or attributes of extremist or terrorist organizations) conducted searches at the place of residence of 11 real active members of the extremist underground cell of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bishkek, Chui and Issyk-Kul regions.

During the authorized searches, extremist literature was found and confiscated.

At present, additional investigative measures are being carried out.
