Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan tells how to work with neighboring countries

«We should work with our neighbors in a new format,» Prime Minister Sapar Isakov said today at the session of the Parliament.

At the meeting, MP Torobai Zulpukarov asked how Kyrgyzstan plans to solve water issues, including in the framework of cooperation with other countries. The deputy is sure that Kyrgyzstan should set the specific price of water.

«Our neighbors should contribute to repairs and other works. Since the 2000s, the neighbors, one could say, abandoned it. We should work in a new format. But today we can’t say that water is a commodity. It is necessary to be based on specifications. Previously, the system operated: Kazakhstan imported coal to the heating and power plant, and Kyrgyzstan carried out water operations. However, this hasn’t been done for two years already. I think that after some time we will return to this principle,» Prime Minister Sapar Isakov said.
