MP interested weather Uzbekistan should be involved in construction of KambarAta

Is it worth to involve Uzbekistan in the construction of Kambar-Ata, deputy Umbetaly Kydyraliev asked at a session of the Parliament today.

Deputy noted that neighboring countries are our potential buyers. «Is there a need to involve them into the project?» he asked.

Prime Minister Sapar Isakov recalled that negotiations had been held between the two states. «If Uzbekistan used to be against construction, now they support it. And, in addition, the authorities of Uzbekistan express their intention to join one of the shareholders. We must build Kambar-Ata. Of course, first of all we must set our national interests, but also maintain good relations with our neighbors. If we build a hydropower plant together with the Uzbeks, it will be very good,» he said.
