Atambayev comments on answers of Kazakhstan’s Senate Chairman, MFA

President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev commented at the final press conference on the replies of the Chairman of the Senate and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan to his statements about the situation with the neighboring country.

The head of state decided to respond with a fragment from «The Good Soldier Svejk».

«Now, I’ll read you a fragment where the soldier is given an order, and he says he is ready to drink anything, if only there is no hair. «I’m very squeamish,» said the soldier. I can also say that in our case, they also fulfill an order of a lord,» Almazbek Atambayev said.

Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, after statements by Almazbek Atambayev about the blockade of the republic by Kazakhstan, replied: «There is no place for this kind of emotions in big politics. The blockade of Kyrgyzstan is out of the question. It is necessary to comply with the standards and requirements of EEU. This is the subject of negotiations.»

Foreign Affairs Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov assessed Almazbek Atambayev’s statements as «politically incorrect and inconsistent with the status of the head of a sovereign state.»
