Almazbek Atambayev against early parliamentary elections

President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev is against early parliamentary elections. He stated this today at his final press conference.

«I would like everything to be on time, in a civilized manner. But, perhaps, it is worthwhile to elect the parliament, as in the whole world, for four years, not for five years,» he said.

«Of course, I criticize the Parliament. All these six years there were strong obstacles to me and the development of the country on the part of the Parliament. For example, it was possible to take a loan for the railway long time ago. Illiterate, dull people gathered there. Not all of them, of course,» Almazbek Atambayev added.

As for the personnel policy, I’m not going to get involved and advise. I’m tired, I had a lot to do!

«I’m still a president, people communicate with me. I have friendly relations with many presidents and with some — more than friendly — fraternal. They will, probably, need my help. But after the inauguration, I want to leave the country for at least a week. I’m tired,» the President repeated.

«And of course, I will prepare the Social Democrats for the next parliamentary elections. I’m not going to be a chairman of Parliament or government or a deputy. But I will be a number one. I intend to form the list by myself. The Social Democrats must show what the deputies should be like,» Almazbek Atambayev said.
