Atambayev about people in Parliament and why businessmen don’t belong there

After the entry into force of all amendments to the Constitution, the center of influence moves to Parliament. So, it must be improved. President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev announced today at a meeting of the National Council for Sustainable Development.

According to him, many people still do not understand what kind of referendum was held last year. From December 1, 2017, all amendments to the Constitution will come into force. The center of gravity moves to Parliament and the government.

Until 2040, we must completely switch to a purely parliamentary form of government. As the influence of the Parliament will grow, we must revise electoral legislation.

Almazbek Atambayev

«I repeatedly cited the example when Respublika-Ata Jurt went to the elections in one list, and as a result, only the riches turned out to be there, not a single Russian, an Uzbek or a representative of intellectuals. Parliamentary elections are not far — in 2020. It is necessary for the experts to analyze, to make, so that there were no such games at elections,» the President stressed.

"Once the center moves to Parliament, there must be honest people who care for the country, and not only for their wallet. In parallel, you need to make sure that the business is not afraid for its wallet. Many of us still go to parliament, because we are afraid for our business that there will be a redistribution of property. This will not happen. I want to wish businessmen to do their business. And let those who are ready to fight not for their wallet and business, but for the country go to the Parliament. For example, because of the same flour kings, we probably will not get a grant from IMF, "Almazbek Atambayev said.
