Drunk driver kills 6-year-old girl, her aunt in crash

Driver, who killed a six-year-old girl and her aunt, was driving drunk. The information was confirmed in the Patrol Police Department for Chui region.

According to the department, the night before, a 25-year-old man driving Volkswagen car hit on the pedestrian crossing two women and a child in Kant town. The six-year-old girl and her 64-year-old relative died at the scene. The mother of the child is in the hospital. Her state is assessed by doctors as grave.

A criminal case was initiated on the fact, and the driver was placed in the pretrial detention center. All necessary examinations have been appointed. The investigation is under way.

For ten months of 2017, at least 5,197 traffic accidents were registered, that is 8.3% more than for the same period of 2016. At least 695 citizens were killed, about 8,000 were injured.
