Ministry of Economy forms headquarters for prompt resolution of border issues

The Ministry of Economy forms a headquarters for the prompt resolution of emerging domestic issues on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border. This was announced today at an extraordinary meeting of the National Business Club by the head of the ministry Artem Novikov.

«We are constantly monitoring the situation. There are many common issues related to medical care, safety, food. You can call any time, we will promptly solve all current issues through the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Health. Phone numbers of employees will be announced later,» he said.

«As for perishable goods, if there is a risk of damage to the goods, we are ready to organize free trade fairs in the city and in other regions of Kyrgyzstan. But this can only be done if you wish. If it is, submit the lists of goods. If there are goods that can be reoriented to other markets, please provide a list and an approximate cost, so that we can negotiate with our partners,» Artem Novikov added.

Since October 10, Kazakhstan has strengthened control on the Kazakh-Kyrgyz and Kazakh-Russian border. There are queues from heavy trucks moving to Kyrgyzstan. The queue at the checkpoint Ak-Tilek in recent days reached 9-10 kilometers.

According to the State Border Service, as of November 1 at 10.00 am, 520 vehicles stand at Ak-Tilek checkpoint, 105 vehicles- at Chon-Kapka checkpoint and 1 vehicle at Ak- Zhol checkpoint.
