Emergency situations damage in Kyrgyzstan amounts to 896 mln soms for 9 months

Material damage from natural and man-made emergency situations amounted to 896,884,800 soms for nine months. This became known at the board meeting on the results of the work of the ministry, chaired by the Minister of Emergency Situations Kubatbek Boronov. Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to Colonel Kalys Akhmatov, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, there were 318 emergencies in nine months. The main reason for the growth in natural disasters is a large amount of precipitations.

«The following types of emergencies prevail in the republic: snow avalanche (104 cases recorded), landslide (67), mudflow (46), flooding (36), strong wind (12). At least 236 people were rescued in different emergency situations,» Kalys Akhmatov said.
