A new cargo transportation route has been opened at the ceremony of the meeting of the delegation of the international motor rally — Andijan — — Irkeshtam — Kashgar. Public Relations Department of the reported.
According to Anarbek Bekmuratov, Director of the State Agency for Automobile and Water Transport, Weight and Dimensional Control under the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the , an agreement on a pilot project has been reached between the three states, and the opening of this route will create additional conveniences for cargo carriers of the three countries.
As part of the ceremony, representatives of , and , as well as nine heavy trucks (three from each state) crossed Dostuk checkpoint. Heavy vehicles started their route towards the Chinese city of .
Recall, the official opening of Dostuk checkpoint on the section of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border between and Andijan regions of the two republics took place in early September.
