CEC of Kyrgyzstan announces official results of presidential elections

The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan announced the official results of the presidential elections, which took place on October 15.

The final results were calculated according to the data of the automated reading devices and manual counting of votes.

The candidate from SDPK Sooronbai Jeenbekov won the largest number of votes- 54.22 percent. Omurbek Babanov, a deputy of the parliament, is at the second place with 33.49 percent of votes. Adakhan Madumarov with the result of 6.57 percent takes the 3rd place.

Voter turnout in the presidential election was 56.34 percent. The results of the voting were abolished at eight polling stations throughout the country, but this did not have any effect on the overall results.

The CEC also stressed that on October 15, automated reading devices failed 62 times. The CEC server on the voting day was attacked 18,358 times by hackers from 26 countries. The peak of cyber activity was at 9.05 pm local time.
