World Bank to allocate Kyrgyzstan $ 46 million for improvement of heat supply

According to its data, the total amount of approved project financing is $ 46 million: $ 23 million is provided in the form of a loan and the same amount — in the form of a grant.

The project will finance upgrading of individual heat points in approximately 2,000 apartment buildings in Bishkek, including the installation of 4,000 household heat meters and hot water meters with a remote reading function («smart meters»).

In addition, the project will replace and reconstruct the main pipeline Vostok, which supplies heat to 450 apartment buildings and 29 public buildings in the southern part of the city. This component of the project will be implemented by Bishkekteploset JSC.

The project will help 14,000 low-income families living in remote rural areas to purchase and switch to the use of energy-efficient heating stoves that do not pollute the environment. Measures to increase the energy efficiency of 21 public buildings (schools, kindergartens and hospitals) will be taken. These components of the project will be implemented by the Community Development and Investment Agency (ARIS).
