Policeman, who commits traffic accident driving drunk, sentenced to 10 years

Policeman, who committed a traffic accident with two deaths driving drunk, was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years to be served in penal settlement. Talant Baygaziev, lawyer of the affected party, told journalists.

He added that the guilty of the accident should pay 200,000 soms to the family of the deceased Dmitry Kislenko. The verdict was delivered the day before by the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek.

Recall, fatal traffic accident occurred on August 18 at the intersection of Gorky Street and Aitmatov Avenue. Employee of the Leninsky District Police Department was driving Toyota Windom car being drunk and collided with Mazda, which crashed into several cars standing at a traffic light.

Two men — the driver and passenger of Mazda — died at the scene. The deceased passenger of the car Dmitry Kislenko had two small children. Dmitry was the only breadwinner in the family. His wife, Ekaterina Kislenko, asked Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev to take the case under his personal control.
