New president Sooronbai Jeenbekov to make his first visit to Russia

Sooronbai Jeenbekov, who won the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan, may make his first visit to Moscow (Russia). Source in the diplomatic circles informed 24.kg news agency.

He noted that the official results have not yet been announced and the date of inauguration has not been determined. «At the same time, it is obvious that the first visit will be made to Russia in order to demonstrate adherence,» the source said.

Answering the question can the first visit be paid to Kazakhstan amid the difficulties that arose on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, the source noted that a large group under the leadership of the First Deputy Prime Minister is now working, and the border issue should be resolved in the near future.

Earlier it was reported that the CEC is ready to announce the results of the elections on October 28. The presidential elections were held in Kyrgyzstan on October 15. According to preliminary data, candidate from SDPK Sooronbai Jeenbekov won the majority of votes (54.79 percent).
