PMs of Kyrgyzstan, Armenia talk about activation of economic relations

Within the working visit to Yerevan (Armenia), the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov met on October 24 with his Armenian counterpart Karen Karapetyan.

According to the press service of the Kyrgyz government, topical issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as issues of further integration of countries within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union were discussed at the meeting.

Sapar Isakov noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the further development of relations with Armenia in the field of trade and economic cooperation.

«It is also important to continue the bilateral dialogue with the aim of boosting trade and economic relations between countries in order to increase trade turnover, which increased in 2017 compared to 2016. It is necessary to use all available potential for this,» Sapar Isakov said.

The head of the Cabinet stressed the need to use Armenia’s experience in applying the user status of a special scheme for stimulating sustainable development and good governance GSP +.

«Taking this circumstance into account, the parties could exchange experience on the effective use of the benefits provided by this status,» he said.

Karen Karapetyan also noted the interest and readiness for the dynamic development of trade and economic cooperation.

He stressed that the Armenian side would make all necessary efforts for this.
