Government of Kyrgyzstan submits to Parliament EEU Customs Code

The Government of Kyrgyzstan submitted to the Parliament a single Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). The document is published on the official website of the Parliament.

«The Customs Code is an annex to the agreement on the union and one of the main documents of the regulatory and legal framework of EEU. The document will replace the existing code of the Customs Union and certain international agreements on customs regulation, which were concluded during the formation of the legal framework at the early stages of economic integration — the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space,» the background statement says.

As of today, the Customs Code of the Customs Union and 21 international treaties are in force in EEU countries, 16 of which no longer meet the requirements of the time. They have been revised and included in the new Customs Code.

The new Customs Code of EEU will enter into force on January 1, 2018.

The decision was made on April 28, 2017 at the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission with participation of the Vice Prime Ministers of EEU countries.
