Vladimir Putin first to congratulate Sooronbai Jeenbekov on election win

Vladimir Putin congratulated Sooronbai Jeenbekov on his victory in the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan. This is stated in a message posted on the Kremlin website.

It is noted that Putin sent Sooronbai Jeenbekov a telegram in which he stressed that the results of the voting confirmed the high authority that Sooronbai Jeenbekov has among his compatriots and testify to recognition of his achievements in resolving pressing issues of the social and economic development of Kyrgyzstan.

Vladimir Putin also noted that Russia highly appreciates the personal contribution of Sooronbai Jeenbekov to strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

It is reported that Vladimir Putin is confident that through joint efforts, Russia and Kyrgyzstan will ensure the further build-up of the entire range of bilateral relations, as well as constructive interaction within the Eurasian Economic Union and other international structures, that «meets the fundamental interests of the friendly peoples of our countries, stability and security.»

Note, yesterday, Kyrgyzstan held presidential elections. According to preliminary calculations, the candidate from the party of power Sooronbai Jeenbekov won, but the CEC haven’t provided official results so far.
