CEC receives results of manual counting of votes

The Central Election Commission received the results of the manual counting of votes. The head of the commission Nurzhan Shayldabekova told journalists today.

According to her, voter turnout in the republic was 55.93 percent. The greatest activity of voters was observed in Osh city — 68.14 percent, as well as in Talas region, where 61.05 percent of voters came to the polling stations.

Results were received from 98.3 percent of the polling stations. Results from abroad and from remote regions of the republic are still expected to come. Nearly 99 percent of the protocols of manual counting were received. They will become available after the system is upgraded.

Sooronbai Jeenbekov won 54.81 percent of the votes (917,219 people). His opponent, Omurbek Babanov, was supported by 564,573 people, or 33.74 percent of voters.
