Observers from CIS: Voter lists formed carefully, but there were problems

Voter lists were formed carefully, but there were also problems. The Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev told journalists today.

According to him,  a backup voting, using usual ballot boxes was held at four polling stations. A large number of local and foreign observers followed the voting process. «There were up to 30 people at polling stations. We didn’t expect that there will be so many observers. Many of them are representatives of the candidates’ headquarters,» he said.

He added that there were problems with the list of voters. «This can never be avoided. Some didn’t find themselves in the lists. I saw how the guy couldn’t get the ballot. The SRS operators identified him. It turned out that he was registered in a nearby street and should vote there. Such cases were not only in Bishkek. That’s life. Preparatory work on the formation of lists was conducted carefully. The lists were accurate enough,» Sergey Lebedev said.

Based on the results of processing 97 percent of the ballots, Sooronbai Jeenbekov leads the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan. For him voted 54.22 percent of voters who came to the polls.
