About 16,000 ballot papers turned out to be invalid following the results of presidential election. The Deputy Chairman of CEC Abdyzhapar Bekmatov informed 24.kg news agency.

According to him, there were two ticks somewhere, in others, on the contrary, there were no marks.

«It happens that an automatic reading device can count a bulletin as invalid if for example there is a dot on it. When the papers are counted manually, they are considered as valid. A protocol is drawn up on such facts,» Abdyzhapar Bekmatov told.

According to the Central Election Commission, in total there are 3,025,000 voters registered in the republic. At least 1,692,000 of them have voted that is 55.93 percent.
