One more fact of preparation for mass riots detected in Kyrgyzstan

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan in the course of operational-search activities detected one more fact of preparation for the riots with subsequent seizure of the administrative buildings, planned after the announcement of the results of the presidential election on October 15. Press center of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to it, it was found out that the former deputy of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic Kazybek Shaiymbetov, previously convicted of illegal storage and carrying of an explosive device and ammunition, having previously conspired with a group of individuals, intended to take an active part in mass riots during and after the presidential elections in case of loss of one of the candidates.

In order to realize his criminal intentions, the former deputy and his supporters in the last few days actively searched for weapons and ammunition for them to participate in mass riots and seizure of the administrative buildings of the state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic.

On October 14, a criminal case was initiated against Kazybek Shaiymbetov and other persons on the basis of the crimes provided in the Article 27 and Part 1 of Article 233 (preparation for organizing riots), Articles 27 and 295 (preparation for the forcible seizure of power) and Part 2 of Article 241 (illegal acquisition, storage and carrying of firearms, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The detainees were taken to the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The investigation is underway.
