President to lay a capsule of new complex of children's and adult oncohematology

President Almazbek Atambayev today will lay a capsule of a new complex of pediatric and adult oncohematology at the National Center of Oncology and Hematology under the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Recall, on June 1, 2017, the head of state visited the pediatric oncology unit. Then he decided that a new building of oncohematology for 150 beds would be built. 100 beds of them are for pediatric oncology and 50 — for adults, including six beds for resuscitation, intensive care wards for children and adults, and four boxes for bone marrow transplantation. It is expected that the new complex will take the first patients at the end of 2018.

As of today, a foundation pit has been dug for a new building of children’s and adult oncology and hematology. After the capsule is laid, its construction will begin.

At the same time, by order of the President, major repairs of the main buildings and auxiliary premises of the National Oncology Center were carried out. The territory of the oncology center was landscaped and provided with street lighting.

Repair and construction work has been carried out since June 30, 2017. Work has already been completed in six separate main blocks and six auxiliary ones.

150 million soms have been allocated from the budget to repair the oncology center. Other 70 million soms have been allocated to complete the reconstruction of the buildings from the presidential fund for social protection and support.

As a result of Almazbek Atambayev’s visit to India Kyrgyzstan has been allocated as a humanitarian aid and now is being installed the remote gamma therapeutic device Bhabhatron II for radiotherapy of malignant neoplasms and a simulator for radiotherapy planning. Now the delivery of the radioactive source Co60 for Bhabhatron II from India is expected. Commissioning is planned for early November 2017.
