Former Prosecutor General Azimbek Beknazarov will not be removed from the ballot paper, although the day before during TV debates he stated that withdraws his candidacy from the presidential election. Gulnara Jurabaeva, member of the Central Election Commission, told 24.kg news agency.
According to her, the candidate can refuse to participate in elections not later than three days before the voting date, that is, the deadline expired on October 12. «Yes, Beknazarov said on the air that he was leaving the race at the last stage, but he also needed to file an application to the CEC. We must consider it, accept it. He was late. If, of course, he did not apply earlier,» Gulnara Jurabaeva said.
The presidential elections will be held on October 15. The election campaign will officially end on the night of October 14.
