Kadamdzhay antimony plant resumes work

Kadamdzhay antimony plant resumed its work. Press service of the authorized representative of the government in Batken region reported.

According to it, two companies started their activities at the enterprise: one will be engaged in processing of old waste products of the plant, the second — in the production of antimony, raw materials for which is brought from Alai district of Osh region.

In August 2016 the plant reportedly signed an agreement on processing of the company’s waste with the Chinese company Zhongteng, and in July 2017 — an agreement on cooperation with the Kyrgyz company Sary-Tash.

It is noted that the old waste will be enough for three years of plant’s work, the Chinese company will again produce antimony from it. The company assured that processing of waste will not harm the environment.

According to Arslanbek Makkambaev, head of the External Economic Relations and Logistic Support Department of the plant, the cost of a ton of antimony is $ 7,000 in the world market — there are few reserves of antimony in the world, and demand for it is high.
