Officers of the State Committee for National Security detained civil activist Melis Aspekov in Bishkek. Representative of the Committee for the Protection of Freedom of Speech, Adil Turdukulov, informed 24.kg news agency.
According to him, Aspekov was summoned to the State Committee for questioning at 10.00 the day before.
Adil Turdukulov added that recently Aspekov actively supported sentenced to 11.5 years in prison for taking a hostage ex-MP Sadyr Japarov. In addition, he was in favor of presidential candidate Ulukbek Kochkorov.
