24.kg news agency must pay 5 million soms to the candidate for presidency from SDPK party Sooronbay Jeenbekov. Other 5 million soms should be paid to him by journalist Kabay Karabekov. This decision was made the day before by a judge of Sverdlovsky District Court of Bishkek Galina Shin.

The candidate for the presidential post considered the article to be discrediting his honor and dignity. He stressed that the material was published during the election campaign period, and therefore had the purpose to blacken the Jeenbekovs’ family.
The first hearing was held on October 3. However, there was no hearing as such — lawyers representing the interests of the defendants only received a lawsuit for familiarization. The day before, the court began to consider the claim. It took the judge Galina Shin two hours to make a decision.
The article was removed from the website at the request of the authorized representative of candidate Jeenbekov, who had previously filed a complaint to the Central Election Commission.
