Prime Minister and EBRD Director discuss development of business in Kyrgyzstan

Prime Minister Sapar Isakov discussed with Neil McKain, Director of the EBRD for Central Asia, the implementation of joint projects. This was reported by the Information Support Department of the Kyrgyz government.

According to it, Sapar Isakov stressed that within the framework of the governmental program «Jany doorogo — kyrk kadam» the most priority areas of cooperation between the government and international development partners are the implementation of digital transformation projects «Taza Koom», to ensure access to clean drinking water «Taza Suu» and the introduction of new irrigated land «Development of irrigation».

Sapar Isakov and Neil McKain discussed the current results of Kyrgyzstan’s participation in the Pilot Program for Enhancing Climate Resilience of the Investment Climate Fund. The Prime Minister expressed the government’s interest in the joint implementation of the project on the establishment of the Climate Finance Center and its speedy launch within the framework of the program.

EBRD Director for Central Asia Neil McKain expressed the readiness of the bank for further mutually beneficial cooperation with the government. An agreement was reached on drawing up a list of priority projects for a joint implementation. He noted that the EBRD management will consider all the issues voiced in the near future.
