The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan will deprive the deputy of the Parliament Omurbek Tekebayev his deputy seat as soon as the verdict of the Bishkek City Court comes into force and the corresponding decision is sent to the Central Election Commission.
As CEC member Gulnara Jurabaeva explained to 24.kg news agency, the decision of the commission can be appealed within three days in court.
It is not known so far when members of the Central Election Commission will hold a meeting on this issue. The court verdict comes into force within 10 days.
The day before, Bishkek City Court upheld the decision of Pervomaisky District Court, according to which Omurbek Tekebayev and ex-head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Duishknkul Chotonov were sentenced to eight years in prison with confiscation of property. They are accused of corruption.
