Kyrgyz government owes more than €300,000 to UNIDO

A bill on the ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Kyrgyzstan and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on the settlement of arrears was submitted to Parliament for consideration.

The agreement includes the total amount of arrears of assessed contributions payable to UNIDO from the KR of €385,087, starting from 1993 (including the contribution for 2017).

On March 16, 2017, the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic paid €75,200 to repay the debt. After that, it amounted to €307,754.

This amount is planned to be paid within five years. The money will be provided annually from the republican budget.

Kyrgyzstan has been a member of UNIDO since 1993. The republic is interested in receiving technical assistance in the development of the Program for Sustainable Industrial Development of Kyrgyzstan for 2018-2025. Russia allocated $ 500,000 to UNIDO Industrial Development Fund to provide technical assistance in the development of this program.
