Dmitry Medvedev: New government should follow path taken by Kyrgyzstan

«I hope that the new government of Kyrgyzstan will follow the path taken by the country for the all-round development of relations with Russia,» the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov.

Dmitry Medvedev once again congratulated his colleague on his appointment to the post and wished him success, because «this work is quite hard and difficult.» He noted that Russia appreciates the fact that Sapar Isakov made his first visit as prime minister exactly to Russia. At the same time, Dmitry Medvedev conveyed greetings to the head of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev from himself and the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

«We are close partners and allies. We really have friendly relations. But it is always important to «compare notes,» to see how our relations have been developing,» the head of the Russian government said.

We hope that the new government will ensure proper continuity of the path of your country that it has been following in recent years: the path towards development of relations with Russia.

Dmitry Medvedev

«This position is held by the President Almazbek Atambayev, with whom we have repeatedly discussed these issues. Today we will be able to compactly, but nevertheless, productively exchange opinions and ideas how our economic and humanitarian relations are developing, how integration processes are developing in the Eurasian space, that is, our joint membership in the EEU,» Dmitry Medvedev summed up.
