Head of Russia’s State Duma tells about driving license and Russian language

Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin told how the driving license and the Russian language are connected. He stated this today at a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov.

Vyacheslav Volodin congratulated Sapar Isakov on his election to the post of chairman of the Kyrgyz government and thanked him for his first visit to Russia.

«As far as I know, this is the first visit of the Prime Minister to the State Duma. I hope that this will give an additional impetus to the bilateral relations of the parliaments of our countries and consideration of those issues that are on the agenda. I want to say that we work fruitfully with our colleagues. Many issues are discussed during bilateral meetings. There is something that we succeed in. We have great hopes for today’s meeting, because we can discuss issues that lie in the plane of the legislative power, but they are resolved by the executive one,» Vyacheslav Volodin said.

The Chairman of the State Duma emphasized that the cooperation and confidence of the two countries are also reinforced by the fact that the Russian language has the status of official in Kyrgyzstan.

«This gives us an opportunity to develop relations in culture, education, youth policy, because the language means a lot for strengthening the friendship of peoples, understanding. For example, the same issue of the possibility of work of the Kyrgyz citizens in Russia using national driving licenses. It was resolved, in part, thanks to the Russian language. Only two countries got the right to use national driving licenses. It turns out that the Russian language headed you to Moscow and helped to solve the problem,» he concluded.
