Fate of Kyrgyzstani arrested in US for vandalism to be decided in early October

The fate of the Kyrgyz citizen Nurtilek Bakirov, arrested in Washington (USA) for vandalism, will be decided in early October. Press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Recall, Nurtilek Bakirov was arrested the day before. He scratched his name with a coin on the Lincoln Memorial column.

According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Washington contacted the police station. They confirmed that the Kyrgyzstani was detained on the basis of charges of committing an act of vandalism. The citizen of Kyrgyzstan was released on September 19 with an indication to appear at the court session scheduled for early October.

The consular officer of the embassy contacted Bakirov to provide him with the necessary legal assistance. The student repented of the deed.
