Not a single school built in center of Bishkek for 30 years

Not a single school has been built in center of Bishkek for 30 years. Representatives of the mayor’s office told today at a press conference.

«There is such a problem, we are actively working on it. According to Gazprom, it is planned to build a school in the microdistrict, a capsule has already been laid. We are looking for opportunities for construction. Design work is being carried out to expand the schools,» Nurlan Eshenbayev, head of the Capital Construction Department, told.

The head of the Public Administration of Capital Construction, Stalbek Omurkanov, added that, about 140,000 children study at the capital’s schools with a standard of 78,000. «Grades should be comprised of 25 students, but there are 40 in each grade,» he stated.

There is no land in the center of Bishkek for the construction of schools. The rules and regulations have been tightened up nowadays, and schools with more than 2 floors can not be built in the lower zone. But it is necessary to grow somewhere, we must look for other ways.
