Parliament of Kyrgyzstan takes 100th place in world in number of women deputies

According to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the average number of women in parliaments around the world barely exceeds 23 percent.

Kyrgyzstan ranks 100^th in this rating.  There are 23 women (19.2 percent) out of 120 deputies in the Parliament.

The leader among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union is Belarus — 28^th  place. There are 110 deputies in the parliament, 38 of them are women (34.5 percent).

Kazakhstan occupies the 57^th place. There are 29 women (27.1 percent) out of 107 deputies.

Russia occupies the 127^th place. There are only 71 women (15.8 percent) out of 450 deputies.

In terms of the number of women-deputies, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, which occupy 102^nd and 122^nd places, are even ahead of Russia.

Rwanda (61.3 percent) took the first place in the rating, the second is Bolivia (53.1 percent), the third — Cuba (48.9 percent).
