Government not to evade responsibility for scandal with Liglass Trading

The government will not evade responsibility for the scandal with Liglass Trading. MP Zhanar Akaev said this today at the parliament session.

He proposed to create a deputy commission on this issue.

«It is because we do not trust other structures. Even if the government breaks the contract, they should not think that they will evade responsibility. Everyone who was an intermediary must answer. We lost time, lost the image of the country, the investment climate is spoiled,» Zhanar Akaev said.

Recall, the government of Kyrgyzstan and Liglass Trading signed an agreement on the construction and commissioning of Ak-Bulun hydropower station and Naryn HPP-1 of the Upper Naryn cascade. The same company won the tender for the construction of ten small HPPs. The government, all the time, voices different periods of payment of $ 37 million by Liglass Trading Company for the redemption of 50 percent of shares in Upper Naryn HPPs CJSC. This is exactly the amount Kyrgyzstan should return to the Russian company RusHydro, which is already preparing to file a suit in international arbitration.
