Rosatom ready to build nuclear medicine center in Kyrgyzstan

State Corporation «Rosatom» considers the construction of a nuclear medicine center in Primorsky Krai as a pilot project, which in the future can be implemented in other regions of Russia and CIS countries. This is reported by Russian media with reference to the CEO of «Rusatom Healthcare» JSC Denis Cherednichenko.

The nuclear medicine center will have radionuclide diagnostic units for research using modern methods — combined positron emission and computed tomography (PET / CT) and single-photon emission and computed tomography (SPECT / CT) spectroscopy, as well as radionuclide therapy using radiopharmaceutical preparations.

Such centers are planned to be built in other regions of Russia. «There are plans for Krasnodar, Perm, Kaliningrad, and we talk with other regions. We are also conducting a dialogue in the CIS countries. For today we are discussing the possibility of the project in Kyrgyzstan. But there the main point is understanding how the state will finance it,» Denis Cherednichenko said.
