Uzbekistan wants to assemble cars in Kyrgyzstan and import its fabrics

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke about economic opportunities in the relations between the two countries at a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov. He said that Uzbekistan is ready to assemble cars in the Kyrgyz Republic and import its fabrics to the republic.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev recalled that in the near future the parties plan to increase the volume of mutual trade to $ 500 million. «But this is not the limit. The republics can create joint ventures and supply products to third countries,» he said.

«We have great opportunities. Why can’t we assemble our cars in Kyrgyzstan, give fabrics for light industry, engage in agricultural machinery? Our fruit ripe for 1-1.5 months earlier than your. We can use this opportunity,» Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov said that according to the results of the work of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek business forum, the businessmen of the two countries reached an agreement for $ 115 million.

«These agreements will be worked out and signed by the companies in the near future. The drive that the presidents set at the meeting, we will continue. We have already held a meeting on this matter,» Sapar Isakov concluded.

Following the talks between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov, a memorandum on the creation of a council of akims of the border areas of the two countries was signed. From the Kyrgyz side, the signature was signed by First Vice Prime Minister Tolkunbek Abdygulov, from the Uzbek side — Deputy Prime Minister Achilbai Ramatov.
