Tokon Mamytov on possible topic at meeting of heads of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan

Expert Tokon Mamytov spoke about possible topics that could be discussed at the upcoming meeting of the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan during the visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Bishkek. He stated this today at the round table «Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the solution of border issues as a factor in expanding economic cooperation.»

According to him, the heads of state will discuss the issues of improving relations both political and commercial, the work of checkpoints at the border, mutual trips of citizens and regional security.

«The events in Afghanistan show that ISIS settled on the southern borders of the CIS countries and found a common language with some Taliban. Their task is not the Taliban and Afghanistan, but the countries of the Fergana Valley. I think that together we will initiate a number of decisions on security issues and the fight against extremism and terrorism. This, I think, will be the main topic of the talks,» Tokon Mamytov said.
