Intermediate agreement on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border being prepared

Based on the results of the work of the Intergovernmental Commission for the delimitation and demarcation of the border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan of August 16, 2017, an intermediate agreement is being prepared for 1,170.53 km. This was announced today at a roundtable by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Kyrgyz Republic Komil Rashidov.

According to him, he is sure that after completion of all procedures, the parties will determine the exact extent of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border.

«The joint action plan for further deepening and expanding cooperation between the border regions of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan and other bilateral documents will be the legal basis for continuing cooperation between all subjects of our border regions,» Komil Rashidov said.

The Uzbek Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan added that the four Uzbek regions — Tashkent, Andijon, Namangan and Ferghana — and Kyrgyz — Talas, Osh, Batken and Jalal-Abad — have the status of border and from ancient times there were strong and kinship ties between their residents.
