Large batch of mercury detained in Kyrgyzstan

A large batch of mercury was detained in Kyrgyzstan during a search operation, the press service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

It is noted that on August 21, a Honda Fit car was detained in Bishkek, in which a metal cylinder with mercury weighing 37.5 kg was found.

On suspicion of committing a crime under Article 254 of Parts 2 and 3 (illegal traffic of strong or poisonous substances for sale) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic detained K.A.Zh. and M.M.A.

They are placed in Bishkek SIZO-1. The investigation is under way.
