Program for conservation of snow leopards should be in Development Strategy

Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev at the International Forum on the Conservation of Snow Leopard and Its Ecosystems described why the Strategy for Sustainable Development of the country was developed for the period from 2018 to 2040.

According to him, in 2040 Kyrgyzstan will celebrate the 1200^th anniversary of the creation of the Great Kyrgyz Kaganate.

«It is symbolic that the name of the first head of the Kyrgyz Kaganate, the first kagan of the Kyrgyz, was Barsbek. Therefore, it will be the only true if the program for preserving the snow leopard finds its worthy place in this strategy,» Almazbek Atambayev said.

Recall, an international forum on the conservation of snow leopards and its ecosystems is taking place in Bishkek on August 24-25, in which delegates from 12 countries of the animal habitat take part.
