Fine for killing of snow leopard in Kyrgyzstan – 1.5 million soms

Fine for killing of snow leopard in Kyrgyzstan — 1.5 million soms, the director of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry Abdykalyk Rustamov stated at the International Forum on the Conservation of the Snow Leopard and Its Ecosystems.

According to him, on August 18 new regulatory acts entered into force, amendments were made to laws that toughen penalties for violation of environmental legislation.

Poachers now can’t say that they found somewhere skins of leopards. One will be punished even for the fact that hides are hanging in cafes, restaurants or at home. The fine is 1.5 million soms, not 500,000, as it was before.
